A Fortuitous Film Screening — “Second Skin”

Sorry about the delay on posting, kids — a big chunk of the ROFLCon team (after a grueling 3-hour long meeting) — decided that it’d be a good idea to check out Blue Ribbon BBQ, a little ways away from the Harvard campus. This kind of led to a ridiculous several hour food debauchery of pulled pork, ribs, and ice cream. I was going to post yesterday, but honestly, we’ve been in kind of a food coma since yesterday afternoon.

In any case, cool news that “Second Skin,” Pure West’s documentary about culture/life in virtual worlds, will be showing at same time as ROFLCon for the Independent Film Festival of Boston. Haven’t seen it myself — but from what I hear and the trailer, it looks pretty badass.

Even better is the fact that it’ll be on Thursday, April 24th @ 9:30 (for all you getting to Cambridge early), and Friday, April 25th @ 6:45 (for all of you who aren’t too into the music show). It’s at the Somerville Theater, a short ~15 min subway ride from the conference area to the Red Line “Davis” stop. Keep an eye out here for tickets. We’ve been talking with some of the people involved with the film, and we’ll keep you posted on the deets as they come up.

[Update: The Second Skin folks also just shouted us out -- check it out]
