Martin Sargent (here pictured back in April at the original ROFLCon with R Stevens and MC Frontalot) has just dropped a line to let me know he’ll be coming to next month’s San Francisco ROFLThing rolling helluva deep with a posse of our friends from Revision3!

In addition to being a total badass, Sargent’s currently the host of the web celebrity podcast show Internet Superstar, and has headed up a bunch of shows in the past, including such old school standards TechTV’s Unscrewed and humongously awesome Web Drifter.

You can see the A++ would buy again episode that he and his co-host Gator filmed at ROFLCon with the power-star combo of Tron Guy, Leslie Hall, and Denny Blaze here.

Oh, and, schedule has been updated accordingly.

Some of you who were already spending too much time on their computers back in the day may fondly remember Brunching Shuttlecocks, a huge widely-acclaimed online humor empire that consistently churned out pure unadulterated comic genius from 1997-2003.

Decided to put an e-mail though, and good news today that the co-founder of that site, Lore Sjoberg, currently columnist for’s “Alt Text” (and its associated podcast) and the secret father of a host of other projects will be lurking around at the Aug 29th SF ROFLThing!

Mighty awesome. That is all for today, dear readers.

As we ramp up for the August 29th San Francisco ROFLThing, people have been asking if we have a slick little something that they can post up on their blogs, etc to let people know that they’re going.

Good news!

Just got word that Kristen Curtis over at the ever-awesome Wexley School for Girls slammed together these (kickass) badges for us. Feel free to take ‘em and post ‘em all over your blogs, websites, wallpapers, ANSI art splash, or whatever.

We’re busily cutting out more individual images for all the badge joy your heart desires and will be posting ‘em shortly, but if you’re all hardcore and DIY and stuff, feel free to do it yourself with this Handy Dandy PDF.

Sean Savage ( to attend SF ROFLThing

If you haven’t already registered for the San Francisco ROFLThing end of August, you best do so soon. We’re lining up a pretty sweet group of speakers and special guests for you guys to chatter and mingle with, so act now while supplies last.

Along those lines, Sean Savage, blogger extraordinaire and coiner of the phrase “flash mob” to describe these weird internet organized clusters of people doing weird things way back in the day (and by back in the day, I mean 2003, which is like going back to Mesopotamia in internet time), has just let us know that he’ll be attending said event. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Sean will establish a new phrase to describe what’s been going down since that fateful April weekend.

Confidential to the uninitiated: don’t know what a flash mob is? CHECK IT.
