ROFLCon 3 Panel Videos Are Going Up!

In all our years of doing ROFLCon, this may be the craziest thing that’s happened yet: thanks to the pros at PopSpot, nicely-edited and beautifully-shot panel videos from ROFLCon 3 are already appearing online. Early projections indicate that ALL of the videos will be uploaded by the end of next week. It’s nothing short of a Cinco de Mayo miracle!!

You may remember PopSpot as one of our excellent sponsors during the conference. In addition to filming all of the panels and bringing Antoine Dodson onboard, they were also tirelessly shooting amazing slow-mo video portraits of all the guests. Thanks, PopSpot, for going above and beyond the call of sponsor-duty!

PopSpot has put together a handy-dandy Youtube playlist of all the panel footage, but we’ll also be throwing up blog posts with all the embeds for easy linkage. Keep an eye on the schedule, too, which is being maintained as a comprehensive, one-stop shop for all the links.

Volunteer for ROFLCon!

ROFLcon is looking for a few personable and responsible individuals to give us a hand on one of the two days of the event. There are many different volunteer opportunities available, including registering conference guests, running the information desk, and liveblogging during the panels. We’ll accommodate your schedule and preferences to the best of our ability. In return, you will get free admission to the rest of the conference. Pretty good deal!

Interested? Email us before noon (EST) on Monday, April 30th!!

Supa Hot Fire is not a rapper…

…but he IS coming to ROFLCon!

Deshawn Raw, AKA Supa Hot Fire released the first Parody Rap Battle video less than a year ago, and had us seriously considering the importance of hype crews in our lives. By part 4, which was released in March, he’s nabbed a cameo from none other than CHRIS ROCK. How the hell did he do that??

Catch Deshawn at the “Channels killed the Internet Video Star” panel on Saturday, 1:30 PM in 26-100. He’ll be joined by co-panelists Liam Sullivan (OMG Shoes), Judson Laipply (Evolution of Dance), and perennial ROFLCon favorite Matt Harding (Where the Hell is Matt?) The whole shindig will be moderated by Christian Sandvig, one of our favorite internet scholars, so this panel? You should catch that.

How to use LevelUp

At ROFLCon HQ, the only thing we like more than food is FREE food. What’s that, you say? You like free food too? Well, you’re in luck!

On ROFLSaturday, after you’ve worked up an appetite learning about Supercuts, meeting the foodie champions of the internet, or debating LOLitics, our friends at the Boston-based startup LevelUp will be giving you $10 credit for lunch at any of their merchants if you install their mobile payment app with our special promo code: ROFL.  LevelUp allows you to make payment with your phone (via giant QR code) and has reward programs built-in; it’s our favorite way to get free cupcakes around Boston!

This discount will be available at a bunch of locations near the MIT campus, so grab your new friends and get some delicious nosh!

PS: One of the locations is our wonderful ice cream sponsor Toscanini’s. We’re not saying you should eat ice cream for lunch, but we’re also not NOT saying that.
