You may have noticed that in the schedule, there is a large chunk of time–10 AM to 1 PM–allotted for registration. You may think this is a vacuum in the otherwise incredibly busy schedule. YOU’D BE WRONG.

CMS 100 Class

Dr. Beth Coleman and her CMS.100 class have created a ChatRoulette Bingo game for ROFLcon participants and fans of emoticon-based games everywhere. The first session will take place from 11 to 1 AM on Friday in room 633 of E14, right next to where reg is going down. There will be a repeat session on Saturday from 1 – 2 PM during lunch in the Bartos lobby of E15. Beth reports that initial playtests saw “lots of laughs, participation, and full frontal nudity…” What’s not to love??

Additionally, many of our guests will also be selling their swag. These include the people behind Chad Vader, Wondermark, Chainsaw Suit, Keyboard Cat (they’re bringing the sweater!!), Stuff White People Like, Regretsy, FU Penguin, and I Can Has Cheezburger. Meanwhile, MemeFactory will be asking you to participate in some “meme iteration” exercises for their performance. So far what we know is that it involves dancing, photography, and worksheets. A+++.

Since none of us team members here at ROFLThing have any friends who are not, in fact, fans of robots. We decided to bring our love of robots out and share it with you guys, our beloved attendees. Teaming up and collaborating with the super awesome print-on-demand crew over at Spreadshirt, you’ll soon be checking out the super slick limited edition designs printed on comfy American Apparrel tees.

Our uber lovable Bigeye design is super friendly, and bound to be a good conversation starter. These babies are twenty bucks each, in conjunction with registration for the conference. Keep eyes peeled for our other robot designs at the conference — the staffers have something special hidden up their sleeves!

Back By Popular Demand — The ROFLCondom

You know, I have to admit — when we originally made the fateful decision to produce these, multiple staff members on the ROFLTeam nearly cried.

But we can’t ignore the call of the crowd: back by massively popular demand, we’re officially going ahead and doing a limited 2nd edition run of the All-American ROFLCondom that will only be available for attendees at the one-day craziness of ROFLThing-NYC on Jan 24th.

I mean, we don’t expect that this will necessarily persuade anyone to come out to the event. But, uh, felt that you all should know.

Back in San Francisco and going nuts this week getting the final details all tied up and ready to go for ROFLThing events in less than a week. Get excited for unmitigated badassery.

If you’re attending the VIP Achewood Pre-Party for ROFLThing this coming Thursday night (which you definitely should), Chris has let us know that he’ll bring some of his gorgeously designed merch without the usual shipping fees if you e-mail a wish list of things to orders@achewood.com with the subject line “ROFLCon Order.”

They’ll send a payment request via PayPal over to you and then, magically, on Thursday night, they’ll show up with your things bagged For Your Convenience. Word on the street is that they’ll be no other merch available, so grab it while you can.

If you haven’t gotten on the list for the party yet, but want to — drop a line to tim AT roflcon DOT org. Hurry now while supplies last, we’re expecting to run out of slots in the next few days.
