I can get you contact info for Tucker Max–the UofC’s Onion-esque campus magazine “The Shady Dealer” was started by friends of mine and they got him as a special alumnus speaker when he was on his book tour. (They also staged a protest of their own event. Priceless.)

We also got Dinosaur Comics and Diesel Sweeties to do some scav stuff for us once, so they’re at least sympathetic to wacky fans.

Suggest adding Bubb Rubb “the whistles go whoo!” and of course Lil Sis.

They’re just for decoration!

Comment on November 9th, 2007.

Not that they make up any of my web traffic (anymore), but the shock sites are noticeably missing from this list.
Two categories: shock sites and shock/surprise sites.
Shock sites:
stileproject.com (Jay Stile)
bangedup.com
rotten.com

Shock/surprise:
I see goatse on the list…what about
Tubgirl
Lemonparty

…that’s all I can think of now. I mean I know it’s Harvard but no list of memes would be complete without the Rotten.com elephantitis photos and stileproject was right there with somethingawful in leading the propagation of internet memes of the late 90s/early 00s.

The webcomics panel is looking fantastic. Have you thought about asking Jeffrey Rowland? Besides being the creator of several excellent webcomics (including Overcompensating and Wigu), he also runs Topatoco, which ships merchandise for a number of other excellent webcomics folk, including confirmed guest Ryan North.

Unrelated: Neil Ciciriega (Lemon Demon) is also one of the folks behind Potter Puppet Pals. So that’s one less email to send out, should you decide to step outside the criteria and invite some sub-appendix people.

I definitely agree with that other guy, Kail would be great for ROFLCon because his music’s about video games and nerd shit, it’s funny, and his first album’s free to download on his website. He’s found a great way to use the internet to get his music to people and tons of people love his music! Get him on there!
